The City offers three Stewardship Programs for volunteers to assist in environmental restoration. Stewards lead volunteer projects to serve in their community.

Sammamish Stewards

The Sammamish Stewards preserve, protect and promote the natural environment within the City of Sammamish. The volunteer group is actively involved in many areas of environmental work. Learn more on the Sammamish Stewardship website or contact sammamishstewards@gmail.com for specific details.

Learn More About Sammamish Stewardship:

  • Stormwater Stewards
Work to promote native plants around select stormwater ponds.
  • Native Plant Stewards
Employ restoration strategies to enhance native plant communities in partnership with the Washington Native Plant Society
  • Wildlife Habitat Stewards
Educate the community to improve wildlife habitat in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation.

Trail Stewards

Trail Stewards first gain trail building skills and experience working with Washington Trails Association (WTA). Then they use those skills to lead trail work parties in Sammamish parks and preserves. To volunteer with WTA, visit their volunteer event calendar.

Plant Stewards

Plant Stewards complete the Washington Native Plant Society's Stewardship Program, then plan and organize restoration in our parks.
